I’m new to blogging so please excuse my lack of blogg etiquette. My name is stan rosenthal, and I’m a painter printmaker who has been academically researching how art happens for some years. Art has been a passion for me since I was nine. Recent research by other academics gives good clues, but I’m looking for some answers from fellow visual artists. It would be good to hear from anyone with an opinion about their own creative work. Just use your own words to describe how your image gets from wherever onto paper, canvas or whatever. I will analyse key words to discover if there are any concepts that some or many artists hold in common. It’s all deliberately vague (open ended) because I don’t want to ‘lead’, although I will email back for more in depth answers if that’s ok. The project will go forward no matter whether I get any replies or not. But I really want to obtain as much input as possible from others.
